I am writing to ask you to help me become a partner with you in your child's education.  I will only have your child for a short time in this journey through life.  I want to make a contribution that lasts a lifetime.

My teaching must begin with making your child feel at home in my classroom.  I must also help all the children come together into a learning community made of unique individuals, each with his/her own learning style, interests, history and hopes.

Along with establishing this classroom community, I would like to achieve a partnership between the parents and myself.  It is extremely important that there is an open line of communication between us.

Students will have homework.  To help your child succeed, they need to bring papers safely to and from school in a backpack.  At home, your child needs to have pencils, crayons, markers, scissors, writing paper, glue or tape.  These supplies will be needed to complete assignments at home from time to time.

I look forward to working together in the education of your child.
