| Penguins is
the next unit that we will focus on for Science and
Social Studies. Since penguins live in many
different places, we will have to recall information
about the continents and oceans. There are many
different species (types) of penguins - 17 to be exact
(each slightly different).
All of the species live in
the Southern hemisphere (below the equator). Many live
at the South Pole on Antarctica. Some don't live in
such cold places. You may find them on the coasts of
South America, Africa, Australia, New Zealand and the
Galapagos Islands.
The Emperor penguin is the
only species that breeds and nests in Antarctica through
the frigid winter. |
